Maybe it’s because both of them aren’t made for small town life, not at all, and so instead of growing to fit the town, they grow to fit together.

I like all the stories; they’re all well-written and interesting, with believable characters. I think my favourite is the second one, Nothing Worth Knowing, because I like and sympathize with this Ryan Kesler even when he’s being a jerk.

High school AU. Alex is a Russian exchange student who turns Sidney’s life upside down.
I have a few caveats about the writing of this fic–it would flow a little better if Sidney reflected less on everything everyone says and does–but otherwise it’s very good. It’s written from Sidney’s point of view, and the Sid in this story is my favourite Sid, who knows all about hockey and nothing about people. That kind of narrator is always fun to read, because there are so many things he doesn’t understand that are obvious to the reader, which makes many of the sitations he finds himself in so much funnier.

Frank is a secret teenage werewolf. I love this story for a lot of reasons, one of them being that I love werewolf fic most of the time, and this is good werewolf fic. The opening scene between Frank and Gerard is also incredibly awesome; Gerard is about the only person in the world likely to take Frank’s behaviour in stride. Wish there was more of this, but what’s here is excellent.

Early Bruce/Jason; slightly AU. This story is mostly about Jason, but what it (and all other DC stories) mostly makes me realize is that Bruce Wayne is a crazy man. I mean, not that I didn’t know that, but good fanfic makes me really know it.
The perfect mixture of sweet and disturbing that all early Bruce/Jason fics need to have. Short.

Funny and kind of melancholy. I read this a long time ago, but having assumed it was written by an author I’d already rec’d, I didn’t go looking for it again until recently. And realized it wasn’t by who I’d thought. And that it was so much better than I’d remembered.
