So I keep promising updates and failing to deliver, but this time I mean it! I have literally hundreds of recs sitting in various folders, waiting to be added, but I keep forgetting about it. I am determined to clear out those folders by mid-September, so I’m putting myself on a schedule of 25 recs per week. I’ve already made a start by recommending 8 new stories today, mostly Figure Skating RPF.
I’m sorry to everyone who has left comments in the past 6 weeks, because I just got around to answering them. So rude, I know. I’m taking a full courseload this summer, and I was working about 30 hours/week in May and June as well, so things were hectic. July and August promise to be a little more relaxed.

Another kink prompt. The description (Tanith pegging Johnny) didn’t appeal to me, but although that’s in the story, it’s really a Johnny/Evan story. Evan gets a DVD from Tanith that turns out to be a little more interesting than he thought it would be. Het with voyerism in the first part, scroll down for the slash sequel. Mild D/s.
Like so many awesome stories in Figure Skating fandom, this story is a WIP that was started for a kink prompt and may not everbe finished (although the author has said she? would like to, so there’s a chance!)
This was a much, much better story than I expected. The dialogue and some of the situations are very funny, managing to hit the right note of absurdity without becoming annoyingly stupid or improbable. Johnny and Evan’s tense ceasefire is fun to watch, and the mystery is interesting so far.
Johnny comes back to his hotel room to find a man’s corpse in his bed and the police outside his door. He makes a run for it to try to prove his innocence, and ends up taking Evan Lysacek with him.

This series is actually a crossover between True Blood and a short Danish film, En Forelskelse (Allan Hyde plays Godric in True Blood, as well as the main character, Carsten, in En Forelskelse.) A film that, by what way, is well worth watching if you can find the time. The author has also posted a summary of everything you need to know about it.

холови диваниModern AU–Arthur is the lawyer who defends Merlin in the courtroom. I really loved this story; I just really wish it was in some better format than LJ comments. If anyone knows of a better copy somewhere, please let me know!

Long, somewhat plotty modern reincarnation AU wherein Merlin rooms with Prince Arthur at St. Andrew’s. Excellent writing, with really funny dialogue and some fantastic UST. It reminds me a lot of Drastically Redefining Protocol, for obvious reasons, but it’s still very much its own story. The first scene, where Merlin and Gwen meet on the train, got me smiling and I didn’t stop all the way through. Go read it and then join me in hoping desperately for a sequel.

(If you’re unfamiliar with the Raffles novels, they were written by Conan Doyle’s brother-in-law and they’re pretty much what the Sherlock Holmes stories would have been if Holmes was an amateur thief rather than an amateur detective, with a stronger streak of British-public-school homoeroticism.)
