Teen Titans

Not necessarily my favourite Te story, but it is good. And I had to rec it because of all her story titles (and she has really great ones) this the one I like the best.

Explicit // Humour // PWP // Romance // Underage Sex

And its sequels, You who know my heart and And you alone of pure substance

I have a feeling this series would make better sense if I was more familiar with the canon storyline, but it’s still amazing. It’s Tim and Jason and they…but I wouldn’t want to spoil it for you.

Explicit // Het // Humour // PWP // Romance // Sci-fi/Fantasy // Underage Sex

And sort of Kon/other.

Kon’s easy. Tim takes advantage.

So, so funny in parts.

“Beards! *Makeup*!”

Yes Kon, Tim is a freak.

Coming of Age // Explicit // Humour // PWP // Romance // Underage Sex

My favourite sex pollen story, and how fun is this fandom that I can make a statement like that?

After Johnny comes back.

Bobby had learned that sleeping was a luxury, not a necessity, and he closed his eyes only to make his hearing sharper. Every creak was Johnny’s foot on the floorboards before he disappeared again, and every snuffled noise was St. John not saying goodbye.

In the morning, Bobby awoke first, opening his eyes only to make sure that St. John was still in his bed and hadn’t left in the middle of the night. He ignored the circles under his eyes and the worried looks of people who didn’t understand.

This was Bobby’s second chance. He wasn’t expecting a third.

There are a few more good X-Men stories over at zahra’s site, archived under ‘miscellaneous’. I really like the look of her site, too.

Coming of Age // Mature // Romance

Jubilee gets a GTKY forward and passes it around the school. Unsurprisingly, my faves are St. John and Bobby–although I laughed at a lot of the other stuff, too.

[Charles Xavier] OF ALL THE PEOPLE YOU SEND THIS TO, WHO IS LEAST LIKELY TO RESPOND TO IT: Logan

[Logan] OF ALL THE PEOPLE YOU SEND THIS TO, WHO IS LEAST LIKELY TO RESPOND TO IT: scooter, cause he’s a prick who would think it’s beneath him

[Scott] OF ALL THE PEOPLE YOU SEND THIS TO, WHO IS LEAST LIKELY TO RESPOND TO IT: Well, I’d day Logan, but he was the one who sent to me… probably just trying to show me up, or show off that he can manage to figure out a computer…

[St. John] DO YOU LIKE TO DRIVE?. Shit yes! Have you SEEN Bobby drive? I rest my case. Sheesh.
SAY ONE NICE THING ABOUT THE PERSON WHO SENT THIS TO YOU: Logan has a weird sense of humor

[Bobby] DO YOU LIKE TO DRIVE?. Love it. Johnny has issues, but he can stick it up his ass. I can drive damn well.

[Remy] WHAT’S ON YOUR MOUSE PAD? Dogs Playin’ Poker…Bobby, he think he funny

The series that made St. John/Bobby my OTP. It’s a fairly long series of (short) stories. Told from John’s perspective and he’s almost—but not quite—fifth business in the drama of Rogue’s life.

If you read The Mistakes We Make then you know how dark Kinslayer’s fics can be. This one isn’t quite as bad, but it’s certainly not all sunshine and puppies. And yet I’m recommending…so you know it must be damn good.

Darkfic // Explicit

This fic is not for small children, pregnant women, or people with heart conditions. The Kaizer captures Daisuke and elects to keep him. The Kaizer is insane.

This is one dark story—probably the darkest that I’ve ever read. So much so that I almost couldn’t enjoy it, but it was so good I had to know what happened next.

AU // BDSM // Darkfic // Explicit // Extreme Violence // Non-con // Rape // Torture // Underage Sex

Also Andrew/omc.

She has Andrew’s speech patterns down cold:

“I am very sorry, Angel also known as Angelus, but I cannot be a part of your evil scheme to destroy the world,” Andrew says.

Five Things That Never Happened to Andrew Wells. Long and really, really good; the five things are all connected to make one story.

Eight stories by two different authors, forming a braided novel of epic proportions.

If I had to pick my three favourite fics from any fandom, this one would be on the list. I’m not sure it wouldn’t be at the top. It’s very, very long: set aside days, or even weeks, to read it, especially The Rose and the Yew Tree, which I believe is far and away the best of the series. Don’t you to miss this series if you haven’t read it yet!

Too sprawling (in the grand sense) in scale and reach to reduce to a mere synopsis; let us just say that this is Voyager unfettered and red in tooth and claw, such as Paramount with its nice tidy pander-to-the-demographics mentality could only dream of producing.

    Hear, hear.

The best thing about this novel-length story, “a comedy of manners set in the Golden Age detective thriller genre,” is that it’s only the first a whole universe of stories by A.J. Hall.

What can I say about A.J. Hall’s writing? It’s fabulous. Everyone and their dog has already recommended this story, but I figured there might be someone out there who hasn’t heard about it yet. I get something new out of this series every time I read it. I am beginning to believe that I love Lust over Pendle better than J.K. Rowling’s own works. Heresy, I know – but A.J. Hall has taken Rowling’s universe and remade it for adults.

I would suggest the following reading order, which is a bit different from the one at the Lust over Pendle site:

    1. Lust over Pendle (novel): after the war, Draco and Neville are outed to the wizarding world and caught up in a complex plot against them.
    2. Ships That Pass (short story): chronologically, this takes place before Lust over Pendle, but I think it’s better if you already know LoP Draco before you read it.
    3. Not a Whisper (short story): Draco/Neville backstory: the first night.
    4. Time Shall Not Mend (novella): crossover with Lois McMaster Bujold’s Vorkosigan series. It’s perfectly enjoyable even if you haven’t read the books, but you’ll get more out of the story if you have, and it’s a great series. The first chapter actually takes place before Not A Whisper, but the last three take place a few weeks after.
    5. Dissipation and Despair (novel): Draco and Neville are back, and trouble is once again stirring in Malfoy Intrinsica: foot-and-mouth disease is rampant, necromantic rites are being performed, Black Masses are being held, and a group of creative writers is gathering for a conference. Most of the supporting cast from Lust over Pendle are back to help Draco and Neville combat vampires, plague, and a New-Age empowerment movement.
    6. The Perilous Point (novella): Guests, both wizard and Muggle, are gathering for a wedding in Malfoy Intrinsica on Midsummer’s Eve. Meanwhile, a theatre group is putting on a performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream for their corporate sponsor, Nelcorp.
    7. Queer As Scent (novelette): a side-story focussing on Narcissa while she was pregnant with Draco.
    8. The Mark of the Beast (novelette): a side-story set in 1982, focussing on Remus Lupin.
    9. The Kindly Ones (novella): chronologically, the last in the series. Draco and Neville take a private cruise around the Greek islands, and meet up with someone they would never have expected. Remus Lupin makes an appearance, as well.

Lance has got all seven of ‘em.

Just as funny and good as everything else Jae writes.

“That’s not what I said and you know it,” Justin yelled, and slammed a hand against the steering wheel. Lance’s steering wheel. Even though it was Lance’s car, Justin was driving, of course, because apparently Justin’s dick would fall off if he ever had to ride shotgun while a non-professional drove. “It’s emasculating,” Justin had explained when Lance tried to take the keys, in the slow, awed voice he used for scraps of psychobabble he found particularly impressive. Justin had no idea why Lance might find that explanation insulting or enraging.

Or maybe Justin did. Maybe Justin was trying to make Lance explode in fury, because really, why else would Justin have found it even remotely appropriate to add, “Britney never minded”?

    Explicit // Humour // Romance

Justin has a birthday. He doesn’t remember much of it.

It’s Justin/JC, but the pairing is almost incidental. Jae is the funniest popslash writer out there, and this is one of her best.

Justin had seen himself on TV and in photographs many, many times over the years. He was used to the way the cameras could distort his looks, make him look a lot better or a lot worse, but always at least slightly different than the face he was used to seeing in the mirror. But he had never, in real life or on tape, seen himself look quite as trashed as the Justin on TV who walked over and put an arm around Carson. In fact, Justin had never seen anyone look quite as trashed as the Justin on TV did.

Carson’s smug smile said he’d never seen anyone look quite that trashed, either.

I laughed so hard my roommate thought I was choking. Link is to the first chapter.

“But it’s a good question,” Joey said. “Cause, see, if we’re talking about intercourse, I don’t know if I wanna play. But if other things count, well then…”

“I think any assisted orgasm counts,” Lance said thoughtfully.

“Oh, that sounds sexy,” Chris said. “Any assisted orgasm? Did you read that straight from the manual?”

“Do we both have to come?” Joey said.

“Jesus, Joe,” Chris groaned. “Sex with you is sounding more unattractive by the second. Between you being all selfish and Lance’s assisted orgasms, you’re giving us all a bad name. ‘Sleep with ‘N Sync for the utmost in cold, mechanical experiences. We’re sex machines. No, really. We’re machines.’”

*Nsync makes a bet: they each have to sleep with a Backstreet Boy. Wild and wacky fun ensues.

    Maurauders-era.

From the Severus Snape Fuh-Q Fest. Response to tricky pairing: Snape/Ollivander.

Authors Notes: This is…weird. Warnings for implied incest, and some. Well. Non-standard human anatomy, and cross-species sex. Caveat lector.

Not entirely sure what to say about this story, so just go read it yourself.

It’s a common misconception, really, that Potions is not a wand-art. The wand has its place in potion-crafting, as surely as the scales and the cauldron and the delicate little silver knives. The wizard’s power, channeled through wood and hair and will, animates the disparate ingredients, imbues them with the spark of their magic. A Muggle could toss some cut up bits-and-parts into a cauldron and stir until the sky turned to blood, and all he’d have is a foul-smelling, poisonous mess.

A humorous and well-written essay. If the title isn’t enough to tempt you, then nothing will convince you to read it.

Ever since the movie of the book Fellowship of the Ring came out, there seem to be two popular ideas about Elves’ sex lives. Either they are radiantly asexual, or they are all screwing each other madly, along with any dwarves, hobbits, and men who happen along. Whichever you prefer is usually based on how attractive you think Orlando Bloom is.

    The Silmarillion

An hour in the life of Idril, lady of Gondolin. Great characterization.

    The Silmarillion

Also various other pairings. There’s no actual incest, but there are incestuous thoughts, and there’s some sex which Tolkien’s elves would have considered to be incestuous.

This story really has too many pairings to list them all; suffice it to say, the male elves get a lot of sex. A lot of sex. This story might be confusing if you don’t have some idea who the characters are; if you haven’t read The Silmarillion you can look up the characters in the Encyclopedia of Arda as you go along. It’s worth it.

In Unspoken, Elrohir lusts after his own father in secret–until Glorfindel finds out. Revelations is an Elrond/Celeborn PWP; Changes features Galadriel’s reaction and introduces Gildor Inglorion. One Last Time tells Gildor and Glorfindel’s pasts in a series of flashbacks. Quid Pro Quo is another PWP. Wild Justice brings the series to a resounding conclusion.

I find the plot of the Unspoken arc unnecessarily complex, but some of the character interactions make up for it. Especially the dynamic between Elrohir and Glorfindel, and later (or earlier, depending on how you look at it) between Ecthelion and Glorfindel. Chapters 22 and 33 in Wild Justice are incredibly good and very funny. I wish I had dreams like Elrohir’s…

    1. Invasion
    2. Listening
    3. All the Wonder
    4. Consolation
    5. The World Turned Upside Down

Every fandom has Five Things stories, and these ones are amazing. I’m not so keen on the second and fourth stories, which are short, but I love the other three, which are all nice and long.

What if Napoleon invaded Britain? Or Aubrey and Maturin met in space? Or Jack turned into a woman?
