I told myself I wasn’t going to recommend anything else by RivkaT, but I changed my mind (mostly because I’d read this and bookmarked it in my “to be rec’d” folder before I realized who it was by, but never mind.)

Long fic, focussing on the relationships between Clark, Lex, and Bruce Wayne. I’m tired, and it’s been a while since I read this, so that’s about all I can do for a summary.

When Lex loses his memory, Clark takes advantage of the opportunity.

I love amnesia-fic. There’s just so many things authors can do with it.

Clark’s roommates mistake Lex for Clark’s boyfriend. Because Clark doesn’t know how to tell a simple lie.

Clark twisted his freed-up sheets in his hands. “Um. You know how you told me that when you tell a lie, it has to be just as concrete in your mind as the truth? You have to have an image of what the world is like in your lie?”

“Let me see if I’ve followed you. In order to more convincingly sustain the illusion of homosexuality and protect you from the depredations of Met U’s female undergraduate—” Clark’s wince suggested that there might have been a professor or two in the mix as well—”population, you made up a boyfriend. And when you thought to yourself, ‘What would my gay boyfriend be like?’ the answer was, ‘I think he’d be like Lex.’ You know, Clark, contrary to what’s widely believed, I wasn’t the only faggot in Smallville.”

“You know, when I do that, it must look - never mind. Just don’t crash my car.”

I love this fic; the dialogue is great. Especially Lex’s “sex made fire shoot from your eyes?”
