After a much longer hiatus than expected, I am finally back recommending fic. Not surprisingly, I have a huge backlog of stuff I bookmarked. I’ve already added 37 new recommendations, and I’ll work my way through the rest over the next few days.

This is not your average fanfic. It’s a dark picture book with some extraordinary watercolours and a more thoughtful characterization of Narcissa than we ever got from J.K. Rowling. Worth reading (or just looking at) for the art alone. Gorgeous!

Early Bruce/Jason; slightly AU. This story is mostly about Jason, but what it (and all other DC stories) mostly makes me realize is that Bruce Wayne is a crazy man. I mean, not that I didn’t know that, but good fanfic makes me really know it.
The perfect mixture of sweet and disturbing that all early Bruce/Jason fics need to have. Short.

If The O.C. was in the same universe as The Time Traveler’s Wife, this probably still wouldn’t have happened.
But I can dream, can’t I?
(If you’ve never read The Time Traveler’s Wife, do so. All you need to know to understand this fic is that it’s about a man who has the ability, beyond his control, to travel forwards and backwards through time, mostly to moments in his own life.)
I didn’t like or care much about Harvey on the show, but this story makes me want to John to love him, even just a little.
Sea: He knows all about the sea. John is the water he lives in like a fish. Let’s go to the beach and have beer and watch the girls in their bikinis … but lately that line of thought always leads back to Aeryn.
Not that everything else doesn’t.
