Pre-series. Is this really a good idea?
“And it has nothing to do with him doing pull-ups in the cargo bay every morning without his shirt on?”
Busted. Not that he’ll admit it. Ever.
“I’m deeply offended that you would entertain that preposterous notion for a second. Sensible woman like yourself. Ought to know me better.”
“Sorry I brought it up, sir.”
“Apology accepted.”
After Clark and Lex are outed, Clark has an encounter with Whitney in the school showers. It’s not what you’re thinking. Neither of the things you’re thinking, actually.

Jim sleeps with Blair’s girlfriend.
“Oh so he was better than me, great. That’s. you could just lie or something.”
“No, no he wasn’t better.”
“I was?”
“No you weren’t,” she said, exasperated. “it’s like chocolate and vanilla: different. Both good. Yum. Both of you, I promise.”
“okay,” Blair said, slightly placated.
“Good.”
“Wait a minute. I’m chocolate, right.”
“Um.” Her forehead creased.
“Sophie.” She smiled weakly at him and he said, “I’m vanilla. I’m vanilla? What the fuck, look, I demand a rematch.”
“This isn’t a rugby match, Blair.”
“I am not vanilla.”
Atlantis
This is actually an AU of an AU. The original stories by Xanthe are linked at the top of the page, and you’ll want to read them before you read Helen’s fic, because it won’t make complete sense without them.
I debated with myself whether to recommend Xanthe’s stories as well, because I did enjoy them, but ultimately I found that the light tone of the stories, in contrast with the subject matter, made me just uncomfortable enough not to.
I’ve never read any of Cory Doctorow’s books, but I might have to do something about that. Thank goodness there are some authors out there who can see fanfic for what it really is!

Atlantis
Kind of weird and hard to describe, like all of Helen’s stories. But funny and good, too.
“Do you think I’m dumb?”
“You did think unicorns were badass,” John said.
“It’s giant animal with a spike on its head that can run really fast,” Ronon said. “Hello.”
“Okay, sorry,” John said.
“And big teeth,” Ronon said.

Rodney opened his mouth again, then closed it abruptly. People often accused him of lacking a filter between his brain and his mouth. Those people were just idiots who didn’t like hearing the truth about themselves. Rodney was absolutely not going to yell, Colonel Sheppard’s cockblocking me! in front of everyone on the senior staff.
Atlantis
John and Rodney are forced to have public sex for an alien gay fertility ritual.
“The soft sciences are so easily traumatized. I mean it’s not surprising, since they obviously don’t have even the basic mental fortitude that would enable them to become experts in, say… astrophysics, or anything else that’s a real science. The kind of grit and determination that enables a man to forge bravely on and do what’s absolutely necessary in the pursuit of, oh for example a hidden ZPM underneath a penis temple.”
“Please don’t say penis temple,” John said, squinting up into the perfectly blue sky.
