I love amnesia-fic. There’s just so many things authors can do with it.
Well, it looks like my fanfic dry spell is over, with 40 new fics rec’d in the last two-and-a-half weeks. Lots of Star Trek (DS9 and TOS), due South, and Smallville, as well as a new fandom (Gordon Korman), and even a Baby-sitters’ Club fic (under Miscellaneous)
It’s been years since I first discovered Gordon Korman’s young adult and children’s fiction, but re-reading a few of his books today (This Can’t Be Happening at MacDonald Hall, Go Jump in the Pool!, Beware the Fish!), I realized that they’re just as funny as they were when I was ten. I never would have thought to look for GK slash, so finding it was just an excellent pre-Christmas surprise.
Bruno and Boots
Short. Things are quiet at MacDonald Hall…too quiet.
There was a crash as Bruno sprang to his feet, knocking over his chair. “We won’t stand for such unfair treatment!” He pounded the table, toppling Boots’s water glass. “Elmer, we’re all behind you! We’ll sign a petition! We’ll organize a sit-in! We’ll complain to the Fish!”
I Want to Go Home.
An absolutely perfect sequel to the book. Incredibly funny, very much in Korman’s style. Even the chapter headings were exactly right.
