This story is now one of my favourite Harry Potter fics, second only to Lust over Pendle. I have to admit, I can’t resist Redemption Of Draco Malfoy fics, especially when Draco is really well-written. There are one or two moments when story-Draco doesn’t match canon-Draco, but by and large his transformation into a decent human being is shown as a logical progression from the events in the plot.

There’s a short follow-up story, Harry Potter and the Slytherin-Coloured Lamborghini.

If you were interested in the friendship between Draco and Gregory in the story, there a short sidestory, Autumn Can Really Hang You Up the Most, set sometime post-war.

Update: A Thousand Beautiful Things now has a sequel. I’ve only read the first chapter of Delicate Sound of Thunder, but so far, it looks to be as good as its prequel.

Further Update: I just finished Delicate Sound of Thunder, and it really was just as good as A Thousand Beautiful Things. I think my favourite part was Hermione and Snape working together against A.W.L. The scene with Daniel in Draco’s apartment at the end was awfully funny, too. And the revelation of what Draco’s secret DE past was really suprised and horrified me, but in a good way. And Daniel’s such a sweetie…you know, let’s just say that I liked everything about this story. Because I really did.

There’s also a very short epilogue to Delicate Sound of Thunder (ETA: Site seems to be down, so this epilogue is unavailable at the moment.)

Another story by the author of A Thousand Beautiful Things. I didn’t love this one quite as much, but I still enjoyed it greatly. Draco is damaged in the final battle with Voldemort and ends up in St. Mungo’s, where Harry starts to visit him out of guilt. The only quarrell I have with the story is that it feels a little unfinished; I think it needed more of a climax.

Clark stays at Lex’s penthouse for a while. Also, it looks like I have another favourite Smallville author.

NC-17 // Romance

Bertie Wooster gets involved in a robbery; luckily, “Flim” Wimsey is there to help him out. It’s a crossover with the Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries, but it’s mostly about Bertie.

If you know anything about Jeeves and Wooster, you must read this story. Trust me, you’ll never be able to look at Bertie the same way again. It’s not even really an AU; more like the wonderfully plausible backstory that Wodehouse ought to have written.

Fifteen years later, Johnny comes back.

PG // Romance

All Johnny can be is himself.

He’d been named for Saint John, and had never had the chance to ask which Saint John that might have been. The one who wrote the book of Revelation and rained deadly fire down on 200 men in the temple of Artemis, or the one who was the patron saint of firefighters? Or another entirely, with no ironic significance behind the name?

When Francesca comes onto him, Fraser takes desperate measures.

“Constable, a moment!” Welsh beckoned, and then ushered Fraser into his office. “Look, uh, I am required by federal law to give you a copy of this handout, produced by the City government, regarding sexual orientation—”

Fraser blinked as Welsh handed him a lavender-colored booklet. “Uh—”

“—and your right not to be harassed. I think you’ll find that today’s police force is very understanding about these things.”

“Lieutenant, there’s been some mistake.” Fraser blurted. “I mean, there was one woman in Stillwater with a very masculine face, but-”

I’ll bet you never realized how many meanings the word ‘tender’ has.

It’s canon that Horatio arrived on Justinian and met Archie before Simpson returned. I’m not sure if Archie’s background here contradicts canon or just fanon, but I’m not sure that I care, either.

ETA: All Anais’s fanfic is offline for the forseeable future.

The funniest part is that Wesley really could act like this. I’ve been meaning to rec this, but I couldn’t remember what it was called.
