Non-con

Arthur at seventeen is not the same as Arthur at twenty-nine; Eames is one of the few people to have met Arthur at both ages. Some days, Arthur thinks that if he could go back in time and smack some sense into his teenage self, he would.

A story about lust, love, and the years between.

In order to protect himself and his dad, Stiles agrees to a bond with Derek, without really understanding what he’s getting into. The series is a WIP but the stories can sort of stand alone.

  1. Trying to Track Colours in a Kaleidoscope
  2. The Opening to Many a Horror Flick
  3. Like the World’s Given Them a Brief Reprieve
  4. Like Ghost Stories Friends Tell Each Other
  5. A Sudden Wave of Vertigo
  6. Guys Go Into Dark Hallways Together
  7. Everything Will Look Brighter After the War
  8. Trying to Beat the Lightning Home

Mature // Non-con // Romance

Based vaguely off the manga ‘Wild Rock’. Caveman fic (or early tribesmen if you want to be technical). Where Stiles from the Argent tribe is out one night hunting and is captured by the rival Hale tribe’s Hunter Derek, who decides to relieve Stiles of his burdensome virginity. Stiles is okay with this.

AU // Explicit // Non-con // Romance // Words: 19,839

Stiles runs away during his first heat, right into the waiting and ambiguously scary arms of the Alpha’s nephew, Derek Hale. He doesn’t have any choice except to submit, but along the way, he digs up a mystery that threatens his family and even the town’s safety.

I like hooker AUs when they’re done well. This one is. I only wish it was much, much longer. Warning for non-con only because one of the characters is a prostitute.

Ryan Kesler doesn’t mean to pick up a hooker. Really. Set in a universe where Andrew Ladd is not an NHL hockey player.

Sid had realized very early on that for better or worse, he would be linked to Alexander Ovechkin for the rest of his life. But he never expected anything like this.

I’m kind of in two minds about this story. I really love the beginning. I like where the author went with the middle, although I feel like there wasn’t enough contact between Sidney and Alex. It makes sense that there isn’t, but the interaction between them was a big part of why I loved the earlier parts, so it disappointed me a little. I think that would have been okay if the last part had been as long and complex as everything before it, but it felt rushed and unrealistic to me. On the other hand, the story is more than 130 000 words, so it seems a bit ungrateful to complain that the story is too short. However, all these complaints were things that came up after I’d finished reading it; while I was reading, I was enjoying it so much I wasn’t thinking about any of this. I would still love some kind of sequel, though!

Anyway, this is an excellent fic, and you really don’t need to know anything about hockey to enjoy it, other than to know that Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin are the superstars of the NHL, and considered to be the best current hockey players in the world. The non-con is very mild, and is more a misunderstanding than anything else.

In which Mildmay attempts to evade the unfortunate fate of Silas Altamont, and Felix reaches some degree of certainty that he has succeeded. (Set after The Mirador, written before Corambis was published)

Johnny is a vampire and Evan is a vampire hunter. Other than that, not an AU. Warnings for some torture and issues of consent, but this isn’t darkfic.

Reboot

A pon farr story. Kirk and Spock accidentally bond.

BDSM // Explicit // Non-con // Romance

Reboot

Q-Squared-style universe convergence fic. Three different (almost)Reboot!verses come together. There are some extra stories set in Universes B and C. The warning are (mostly) for the Universe C prequel rather than the main story.

Reboot/TOS

A slightly confusing crossover between Original!verse and Reboot!verse, involving Picard, the Nexus, Kirk!Prime, and a bet between Spock and Q. The plot would probably be easier to follow if it hadn’t been many years since I saw Generations.

I think this story suffers slightly from having too large a cast for its length. I would have liked to see more of Spock!Prime and Kirk!Prime’s reunion/relationship, and a lot more of Nu!Kirk and Kirk!Prime interacting. It’s still a great story, though, with a sequel, Deeper Down.

Reboot

A WIP which hasn’t been updated since October 2009, but a message from May 2010 says it will be finished, so I have hope.

Spock is a courtesan who is given to Kirk by Vulcan as a reward for defeating Nero. Lovely worldbuilding so far, and Spock’s frustration with Kirk’s moral outlook is dead on. The premise sounds much crackier than it is in execution.

There are flashbacks to previous Pike/Spock interludes. I don’t get the appeal of that pairing at all, but it makes sense in the story, and it doesn’t get in the way of the building Kirk/Spock relationship.

Reboot

Full of angst, but not in a melodramatic teen way. Bones gets stuck on a desert planet where time moves faster than it does on the Entreprise. First in a series; highly, highly recommended.

Something goes awry when Merlin saves Arthur from a rusalka.

The link is to the first story in the series, Sport us while we may; it’s followed by Everything awakened and With fear and sweetness.

Also Dick/Tim, Tim/Stephanie, Tim/Barbara, Tim/Roy, Tim/Connor Hawke, Tim/Bart, Tim/Kon, and Tim/Clark.

Despite what the pairing list may lead you to think, this isn’t crack!fic, and it’s written with Tim entirely in character. It’s a story about what might have happened if Tim had been dosed with the Scarecrow’s no fear gas. As it turns out, quite a lot of sex–but quite a few other things, too, including a goodly amount of plot (especially in With fear and sweetness) and character development. And angst, of course.

And I almost forgot: Mildred Milton wrote the Tim/Roy scene from Sport us while we may from Roy’s point of view. Read the POV-Switch fic.

Love the author’s summary:

One’s a smart, competent, sensible and cynical federal agent. The other’s a wanted felon. Together, they fight crime.

There are so many good things about this story, including the fun of seeing an outsider’s perspective on the Winchesters.

Square one means listening to Winchester rattle off everything he knows about doppelgangers. “Sometimes said to be death omens, sometimes crisis apparitions.” He frowns. “Lore also has it that they cast no shadow, but everyone who fits the pattern went missing around noon, so no one’s said anything about that.”

It’s 5 a.m., and Victor is in a motel room in the middle of BFE listening to a felon he’s been tracking for months giving him a lecture on evil twins, and he has the sinking feeling that this is going to be the high point of his day.

One of the best morning after stories ever.

Years after Chosen, Spike and Xander are both helping Buffy to train a houseful of slayers, when a somewhat traumatic event causes Xander to reevaluate his life. And Spike to come up with a cunning plan.

This story is nice and light, without too much angst. Season 2 Spike is the most fun to watch on TV, but in print, I like Spike the way he is here—snarky but mostly the fool for love.

The story continues in Parts 4-7 and Parts 8-12.

This goes AU after Season 3. Aeryn leaves Moya, and returns, but she’s a little fuzzy on what’s happened in the meantime. When they finally figure it out, she and John attempt to retrieve something from Grayza’s command carrier, with less-than-ideal results.

I like this story, but I’m not sure I’d have bothered to recommend it if it weren’t for the awesome follow-up fics, all of which I liked better. Here are all the stories in the series:

Future’s End recounts the beginning and end of John’s time with Grayza. I don’t want to spoil anything, but I will say that I like the original characters, especially the most important one, and I like getting to see a bit of Braca’s point of view and feelings about Crichton, something that will continue in the other stories.

Days of Future Past and A Shared Future are alternate versions of the same basic events, both set after John’s rescue from Grayza.

Future Interruptus is a companion to Future’s End, filling in the details of the time John was with Grayza, from her point of view. I suggest that this be read last, even though chronologically it takes place earlier, for a couple of reasons. The most important is that it’s simply a better story than any of the others, and I think the later stories suffer a bit in comparison. Unlike the others, Future Interruptus is a character piece; although it has a plot, the real focus is on Grayza and the relationship she (thinks she) has with John. Maybe it’s just me, but I’ll take a good character-driven story over an equally good plot-driven one any day, and as an exploration of Grayza’s character, Future Interruptus is more than good; it’s superb.

(I’ve come to have more of an appreciation for her since I watched Rebecca Riggs, the actress who plays her, talk about Mele-On Grayza in clips from the Season 4 DVD on Youtube.)

An alternate Season 9. In need of Daniel’s expert assistance, Vala kidnaps him while on a mission. There are things about this story that disturb me, but I like it anyway.
