Away with the Boys in the Band by inlovewithnight
My Chemical Romance, Mikey/Otter, Mikey/Gabe Saporta, Mikey/Pete Wentz, Mikey/Alicia
AU where Mikey has always been a girl, but things otherwise are pretty much the same. This story is absolutely awesome; I couldn’t possibly recommend it highly enough. Although there are several pairings, this is really more of a gen fic, with the focus more on Mikey’s life as a whole rather than on any particular romantic relationship. There is, however, a lot of sex.

consequences of falling by D
Daniel is captured and will be sold at an upcoming market unless the rest of SG-1 can rescue him in time. And that so completely fails to describe anything important about this story, which is sort of slow and drowsy and not at all an action story.

Dancing to the Rites of Spring by ALC Punk
Set sometime before or during Beachhead. Vala’s a little miffed that she’s been “replaced” by Carter, but that doesn’t stop her from trying to get to know Sam better:
Vala interrupted her, “That’s very interesting, I’m sure, Colonel. But you sound like a guidebook. Why don’t you try personal things?”
“Like?” The colonel took another bite of her salad and chewed, blue eyes pinioning Vala.
“Well, are you a screamer?”
The colonel choked a bit, cheeks flushing.
Vala grinned, “Or is that a bit too personal?”
One of my favourite things about SG-1 was that they made Sam and Vala friends (apparently at the request of Amanda Tapping and Claudia Black). Two of my favourite scenes are the hug at the end of Roads Not Taken and the return from the shopping trip in Family Ties. That said, Vala’s attitude in this story is perfectly understandable, and very in-character.

SG-1 is in jail, and they need a distraction to escape. Vala has a bright idea.
“Don’t worry.” A remarkably pink tongue spread moisture over full lips. “This is guaranteed. There isn’t a man in the universe who wouldn’t be riveted.”

Ardhanarishvara by Auburn, Mona
Okay, it has become apparent that SGA genderfuck fics are my favourite stories ever, so it’s no surprise that this long (the first part rings in at 668k), two-part WIP exploring the consequences of an inadvertant sex-change is going straight onto my Top 100 list. Don’t be put off by its in-progress status, because it doesn’t end on a cliff-hanger and would be well worth anyone’s time even if it were never finished.
Sheppard, Teyla, and Ronon accidentally volunteer for sex-reassignment in an attempt to gain valuable technology from an advanced Pegasus world. Although Rodney isn’t directly affected, all four struggle to find some kind of balance. Meanwhile, they still have to deal with the challenges presented by the Pegasus world they visit.
Although the story is technically slash, there isn’t actually any male/male sex at all so far, and the sexual relationships, although important to the plot, don’t dominate it.
(And if you’re anything like me, girl!Sheppard will be enough to convince you.)

I feel obliged to rec this, not just because it’s good (which it is), but because I so rarely recommend femmeslash; k is an author who can make the unlikeliest pairings work.

I have no idea how much of this is cannon, but it doesn’t really matter. It’s a great story, and you don’t need much background to understand it.
