Patrick Kane becomes a girl randomly and has trouble coping with his new body. Someone on the team convinces him he has to masturbate to change back. It doesn’t work. Patrick is unable to change back until he has sex. Lots of it. Also, Jonathan Toews discovers his love of going down on chicks.

Patrick and Jonathan are roommates on the road, and Patrick has a big, sublimated crush on Tazer that starts making itself known through wild, raunchy wet dreams that Patrick has every night, starring Jonathan. Patrick wakes up with sticky boxers every morning with vague memories of the dreams, but no idea how loud and altogether provocative he’s being in the middle of the night. Jonny, however, knows entirely too well, and is at his wit’s end after being woken up every evening by the sound of Kaner, in ecstasy, calling his name.
Finally, Jonny can take it no more, and he crawls into bed with Patrick one night, and wakes him up. Patrick’s horrified and embarrassed, but then Jonathan proceeds to bring him off way better than his dream counterpart ever could.
The summer after they win the Cup, Jon stops by Buffalo to see Pat. Followed by Unsteady on the first go round and Salt Skin.
Honestly, there are things I love about these fics and things I don’t. They hit some of my intimacy kinks really hard, but they’re also way too sentimental for my taste. The series is also crying out for at least one more installment, with some fairly important future developments left hanging.
Still a good read, though!
College AU. Patrick and Jonathan are friends, but only because they have friends in common, not because they actively like each other. Patrick is a student trying to commit to a major, happy to just spend life in peace, and Jonathan is on the hockey team, fighting to get his big break but not missing out on any parties in the progress. A seemingly meaningless kiss begins the slow unravel of their denial, helped along by Jonathan’s teammates and Patrick’s Spanish roommate.
A bit sappier than I prefer, but I really loved some of the supporting characters, especially David. I enjoyed Kane and Toews in this one, too.

Cute, rather touching story, especially Pat’s relationships with his sisters and with Sharpie. I wish it had been beta-read, because there are a few POV issues, but not enough to spoil the story for me.
If Eric Staal is going to hit on him, Jeff is going to hit on him back.
This is actually the prequel to a Skinner/Staal mpreg chatfic, but it can also stand alone.

I have a huge weakness for soulbonding fics, when they’re done right, and liketheroad has done it perfectly in this story. My only wish is that it was much, much longer, because I want to see lots of more of this Jon and Patrick together. Liketheroad has written some other great Kane/Toews fic, but this is my number one favourite of her stories, and it’s among my favourites in the fandom. Don’t miss it!
(Also, there’s a point near the end where Patrick comments that if they’d done things differently, they would have screwed things up even more–to which my immediate reaction was: I want to read that fic, too. I only wish it existed.)
